OVERVIEW of ROCIC The Regional Organized Crime Information Center ® is an organization composed of criminal justice agencies in the southeastern and southwestern United States working together to combat multi-jurisdictional criminal activities. One of six Regional Information Sharing System (RISS) ® centers, ROCIC has been funded since its inception in 1973 by an annual grant through the U.S. Dept. of Justice. The Grantee is the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. ROCIC serves as a vehicle for the collection, evaluation, analysis, dissemination, and storage of information regarding the multi-jurisdictional activities of the wide spectrum of organized crime. Member agencies, totaling more than 1,800, are represented throughout the 14 southeastern states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and comprise all levels of government - municipal, county, parish, judicial district, state, and federal. We offer a variety of services to our criminal justice member agencies including:
ROCIC operates under a Constitution and By-Laws and is governed by a Board of Directors elected by delegations of criminal justice member agencies from each of the 14 states. Membership seminars are conducted three times a year throughout the region.
