Overview of RISS Program

Regional Information Sharing Systems ® (RISS) supports multi-agency coordination and cooperation among local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies. The six operational centers span the 50 states and Puerto Rico and provide their member agencies with a broad range of criminal intelligence and investigative support services.

The RISS Program is funded annually through the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Office of Justice Programs (OJP). The overall goal of the RISS Program is to enhance the ability of state and local criminal justice agencies to identify, target, and remove criminal conspiracies and activities spanning jurisdictional boundaries.

The six RISS centers are:

  • MAGLOCLEN-Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network ®, Newtown, PA
  • MOCIC-Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center ®, Springfield, MO
  • NESPIN-New England State Police Information Network ®, Franklin, MA
  • ROCIC-Regional Organized Crime Information Center ®, Nashville, TN
  • RMIN-Rocky Mountain Information Network ®, Phoenix, AZ
  • WSIN-Western States Information Network ®, Sacramento, CA
